The Laboratory for Research in Computer Science and its Applications (LaRIA) is a research entity that groups together several computer science specialities and whose activities are based on computer science and its applications. The industrial and economic fields concerned, in particular, by applied computer science are growing and diversifying. The major industries which were more specifically interested in production, networks and computer systems, decision support, optimisation, image processing and computer vision are now involved in its use in many sectors of the economy. These include the telephone industry and its many subcontractors, robotics, transport, medical, etc.

In this context, the laboratory is made up of four teams:

  • Networks and Performance
  • Metaheuristics and Problem Optimisation
  • Image Analysis and Computer Vision
  • Innovative Information Systems and Technologies
